    I don't think the old propaganda war is going to work this time. Putin is claiming Ukraine is run by Nazis. The people of Russia know better. And while Putin can get his state media to crank out a constant stream of lies I don't believe they can stop Russians from finding other sources telling the truth.

      Well, @Ficxa 479 a very similar thing happened in October, 1962. Cuba was an ally of Russia, and Khrushchev decided to put "peaceful" nuclear capable missiles in Cuba, which, if you know your geography, is only 90 miles from Miami, and Washington DC is only 1,000 miles from Cuba.

      You might recall that then President Kennedy drew a line in the sand (ocean) and explained to Khrushchev that he could remove his "peaceful" missiles, or we (the US) would put some of our "peaceful" missiles right inside the Kremlin where, you know, Khrushchev could get a firsthand look at them, even if very briefly.

      Khrushchev blinked, didn't he?

      You can bluster and bloviate all you want. The fact is, Russian aggression trying to reclaim Ukraine isn't going to be tolerated by the world. Shooter predicts (and prays) that before things escalate too far Putin and the other world leaders will gain some common sense, stop the saber rattling, and figure this out.

    So let me get this straight, @Ficxa 479 . Russia attacked Ukraine because they don't want it to join NATO because then a NATO member would be on their border, even though their are other NATO members already on their border. Many NATO countries don't even want Ukranian membership and it takes a unanimous vote to bring a new country in. So, your answer to that is to invade a country that is not a NATO member and separates you from actual NATO members. So once you take over that country, you'll have four new NATO countries (Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia) as new neighbors. So I guess you'll be screaming "NATO is on our doorstep" once your invasion of Ukraine is complete. You gonna use that excuse to keep pushing west? Sounds like jumping in front of a bus and wondering why you got hit.
