New York Democrat Charged With DUI, Cocaine Possession
Rep. Elise Stefanik calls for Tony Arquiett to resign following arrest

Police arrested a New York Democrat for intoxicated driving and possession of cocaine after he crashed his car into another vehicle over the weekend.

Tony Arquiett, a St. Lawrence County legislator, was also charged with failure to keep right while driving following Saturday’s crash. Arquiett, 56, will remain in office while his case is pending.

"Mr. Arquiett fully intends to address any issues raised as a consequence of this arrest and plans to continue serving the members of his community while this case proceeds through the criminal justice system," Arquiett’s lawyer said.

Arquiett is the latest New York Democrat to be arrested on cocaine charges this year. A Clinton County legislator resigned in September after facing a series of criminal charges, one of which was cocaine possession. Tim Currier resigned as mayor of Massena in January, a month after he was charged with cocaine possession, tampering with evidence, and failure to comply with an officer.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) on Tuesday called for Arquiett to resign.

"The silence of all North Country Democrats is deafening, and I urge Democrats to demand Arquiett’s resignation now and make clear that drugs have no place in our community, especially among our elected leaders," Stefanik said.

Left Eats Left: DNC-WH Dysfunction Blows up Right Before Critical Midterms

Democrats know the wipeout is coming. We see a lot of Democrats in the House retiring. 29 people have now announced they are heading for the exits. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee just added seven more Democrats to the “vulnerable” category list they have.

Meanwhile, Democrats are giving Joe Biden the cold shoulder, claiming “scheduling” issues when he comes to town so they don’t have to be seen with him. With his numbers in the basement, he’s political poison.

But now the report is that one of their big guns — DNC Chair Jaime Harrison — one of the people who is supposed to be leading the charge for Democrats in the midterms — may have had enough, that he’s “frustrated, isolated and trapped” in the job.

Reportedly, there are a lot of problems between him and the White House. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jen O’Malley Dillon is making key decisions and his influence is limited, “according to several people who have spoken to him.” Meanwhile, the White House is upset with him for not traveling to meet with donors or being at DNC headquarters, but rather staying in South Carolina. And no one has managed to figure out how to get Joe Biden’s numbers out of the basement. This description of tension came from “two dozen current and former DNC officials, White House officials, fundraisers, donors, and Democrats.” So it sounds very well-sourced. Two sources are even saying he’s been so frustrated he’s considered an escape route. He wants to run for Congress but he can’t do anything that’s going to step on Democratic toes.

“There’s blame to be shared,” said a person familiar with the dynamics who added that the White House has not been able to devise an effective political strategy or a clear message for Harrison to carry to help reverse Biden’s slide. “Has he demonstrated that he’s going to move heaven and earth to raise money and defend the administration? No. But it’s pretty impossible to defend what’s happening and not happening.”

Harrison is close to Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), a key supporter of Biden whose endorsement was critical to him getting into office. So this also sounds like a weasel way of trying to bash Harrison because they can’t do it publicly.

NBC does note that it’s ironic that the White House is criticizing Harrison for staying close to home during the pandemic, “The same Biden operation that was criticized in 2020 for not letting its chief principal travel enough is now criticizing the frequency of travel over another chief principal in the party.”

But safe to say, this is more dysfunction on parade in a very critical political relationship, particularly as we head into the midterms. Not exactly very encouraging for the Democrats.

Harrison is very angry today about the report and he let loose in an eight-tweet thread at whoever was behind the reports.

    https://twitter.com/harrisonjaime/s...ows-up-right-before-critical-midterms-n514951

Um, you guys are the party of “fraud, fear, and fascism.” Just as an aside. But thanks for confirming the dysfunction and do continue attacking Democrats.

“So let’s stop the petty BS and let’s save our Democracy!” Harrison declared. He made a list of some of his accomplishments. “The DNC work isn’t always easy & covid has created its own challenges. Our offices have been closed since 2020, but despite barriers we are making a difference,” he claimed. “My grandpa used to say “if you aren’t man or woman enough to put your name on it & your reputation behind it, then it ain’t worth being said or done.” There is a lot of unnamed bullshit in politics, but no one can ever say that I don’t work my ass off for what I believe in.”

Virginia State Sen. Louise Lucas was a bit more direct, threatening the career of whoever was behind the leak.

    https://twitter.com/SenLouiseLucas/...ows-up-right-before-critical-midterms-n514951

But it sounds like it wasn’t just a junior staffer; it was a bunch of people. But even the threat from her shows you how at a loss the Democrats are at this point.

Yeppers, there it is....the voice of Half Cracker---she worked on both of Half Cracker's presidential campaigns---

Clyburn didn't do diddly squat to put Crime Boss in the White House, Clyburn has zero influence on anything, he's nothing more than a political statement of the engineered racial dysfunction in this Nation, and they intend on keeping him for that.

We can also tell that there is so much truth in all the above...lol..I think I sense some tears are falling with this cat, he may need a tissue.

Now to this hack fuck activist that has been in the federal level for decades...googlemotherfucker isnt to friendly towards this one, she claims to be a victim of race because her ideas have been shot down in flames by folks that know better than she does..yet she claims its because she's a black woman.

With all that, I should say that it is going to get very nasty in the coming months, the hack fucks are on their heads, they are going to blame the GOP of some pretty bad shit, nothing like what we have seen come out of their collective insidiousness recently....they'll be bringing in the big guns now...nothing is off the table.

Yet in the end, the people will win the '22 fight and the hack fucks will lose empirically, but dont think that the hack fucks are giving up that easily.

The 2020 Democrat slate represented the consolidation of American politics into one point of view of conformity and rage administered by the media and overseen by non-profits funded by a handful of billionaire donors. And that is a fundamental threat to a free country

The things listed below are all ideas which pushed by the Progressive Left before, during and after this consolidation. There are some RINO Republicans who may have been involved, but most of these have been publicly identified and are being called out by the Conservative base. Many either will not be reelected (Liz Cheney) or have chosen to retire (John Katko and Adam Kinzinger). In my opinion, the rest are still hanging on like leaches sucking blood from an unconscious body (like Mitch McConnell). They should be driven from the party or forced to retire because they never have and never will take the need's of their base to heart.

Thankfully, the Left's conformity is finally beginning to break because the Progressive's “truths” are finally being seen for the lies they are. My crystal ball is broken, so I have no idea of whether or not there will be a red wave this fall even though most pundits predict a Democrat blood bath. One thing though... Like the vast majority of Conservatives, I am sick to death of where our country is now and where Biden is trying to take it, and I look forward to major change.

    The Conformity Crackup of 2021
    By: The Editorial Board – wsj.com – December 30, 2021

This is about a shared set of political values and preferences that leads people to reach the same conclusions about an event. The reporters and commentators of the major progressive media—the Washington Post, Bloomberg, the Financial Times, the New York Times, the Atlantic, and more—all then reinforce what they now like to call the “narrative” of a story.

Politicians and the press feed the narrative with leaks and the stories they pursue—or, as important, what they don’t pursue. Disagreement is rare to nonexistent because the cost can be ostracism or lost careers.

Recall how James Bennet lost his job as New York Times opinion editor for running an op-ed by GOP Sen. Tom Cotton on using the military to control urban riots. Mr. Bennet thought he was merely exposing readers to a different point of view. He was banished for challenging the progressive narrative after George Floyd’s murder.

Only when it is exposed over time as false does the conformity break, and typically only if there are negative political consequences for Democrats. The saving grace is that sometimes reality is impossible to ignore, and 2021 was the year this happened on some of the biggest events of our time. It’s worth recounting a few examples to see how the dominant consensus was wrong about so much for so long.

The Wuhan Virology Lab origin theory of Covid-19. In the early days of the pandemic, even raising this as a possibility was taboo. Sen. Cotton was vilified for doing so. The Lancet, a supposedly open-minded scientific journal, published a letter in February 2020 “to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.”

This year we learned that the Lancet letter was part of a coordinated effort to quash the lab theory. We learned about the conflicts of interest of Anthony Fauci and others who provided funding for the Wuhan lab. Eventually even the press noticed that China had blocked an honest inquiry, and that no evidence for a natural origin has emerged.

Lockdowns stop Covid-19. There was no fiercer consensus in the early days of the virus than the belief that locking down the economy to stop the virus was an unadulterated social good. We felt the consensus wrath when we raised doubts, in an editorial on March 20, 2020, about the harm that lockdowns would do to the economy and public health.

Two years later we now know that lockdowns at most delay the virus spread. The damage in lost education for children, lost livelihoods for workers and employers, and damage to mental health is obvious for all to see. Even Randi Weingarten, the teachers union chief who did so much to keep schools closed, now claims she wanted to keep them open all along.

The supply side of the economy doesn’t matter. The Keynesian consensus, which dominates the U.S. and European media, has long held that the demand for goods and services drives the economy. The ability or incentive to supply those goods is largely ignored or dismissed. Spurring demand was the theory behind the trillions of dollars in spending by Congress and easy money from the Federal Reserve.

All that money did spur demand. But the Keynesians ignored the disincentives to increase supply from paying people not to work and restricting work with lockdowns and mandates. The result was the surging inflation that caught nearly all of them by surprise. Their demand-side models never saw it coming.

The Steele dossier and Russia collusion narrative. In 2019 the Mueller report exposed the lack of evidence for the claims that Donald Trump and the Kremlin were in cahoots. This year the indictments by special counsel John Durham have revealed how Democrats and the press worked together to promote the dossier that was based on disinformation. Yet for four years nearly everyone in the dominant media bought the collusion narrative. One or two of the gullible have apologized, but most want everyone to forget what they wrote or said at the time.

Vilifying police won’t affect crime. The fast-congealing consensus after George Floyd’s murder was that most police were racist, as was most of American society, and violent protests against this were justified—even admirable. Woe to anyone who pointed out that the victims of these riots and crime were mostly poor and minority communities. Police funding was cut and bail laws eased in many cities. Eighteen months later we see the result in rising crime rates and a soaring murder count. A political backlash now has even many Democrats claiming they really do want more funding for police.

We could go on—who can forget the knee-jerk solidarity with fabulist Jussie Smollett and against teenager Kyle Rittenhouse? But you get the idea. The reason so many Americans don’t trust the media is because they’ve learned from hard experience that the consensus they are told is unassailable truth will often turn out to be false.

15-year-old who sexually assaulted Virginia students removed from sex offender registry
The boy, who was identified as being “non-binary” was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio.
By Ian Miles Cheong January 31, 2022

The 15-year-old who violently sexually assaulted at least two students in Loudoun County, Virginia high schools, and was later placed on the sex offender registry, just had the ruling revoked.

As reported by Rebel News last October, the daughter of a parent arrested at a Virginia school meeting was allegedly raped. The parent, Scott Smith, alleged that his daughter was raped in the girls’ bathroom by a fellow student, a boy who wears women’s clothing. The boy, who was identified as being “non-binary” was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio.

The first incident occurred on May 28 at Stone Bridge High School and a separate incident happened on Oct. 6 at Broad Run High School. He was found guilty and will remain on supervised probation in a juvenile treatment facility until his 18th birthday.

Prosecutors have refused to charge him for a third allegation. “This court made an error in my initial ruling,” Loudoun County Judge Pamela Brooks said. “The court is not vain enough to think it’s perfect, but I want to get it right.”

The judge ruled to drop the convicted rapist from the sex-offender registry in a hearing last week after Commonwealth Attorney Buta Biberaj argued that the boy was released from jail due to having no “history” of assault, and argued that putting him on the registration was for the community’s safety. Biberaj requested that he remain on the registry until the age of 30.

The defence attorneys, William Mann, Jonathan Moore, and Caleb Kershner, claim that the rapist was a “victim” at the centre of a national media outcry. Kershner, who sits on the Loudon County Board of Supervisors, claims that the 15-year-old was “cheated” by the “failure of the system.”

“We are setting him up for failure,” said Kershner, who is a Republican according to the Daily Wire. “We’ve never concentrated on [the boy] — we’re not even giving this young man a chance.”

Scott Smith, the father of the girl who was raped at Stone Bridge, says that his family has been wronged by the system, and said in a statement after the hearing how he and his wife are “heartbroken” and “mad at how the justice system and the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s attorney has let down [his] daughter, as well as the other victims of his predatory actions.”

“The person who committed these horrible crimes against these three young women will not have to bear the shame at being known as a lifetime registered sex offender, as he was originally sentenced,” stated Smith. “Rather, we are now concerned more than ever that this change in his legal status may put other parents’ daughters at risk of harm in the future.”

While justice may not have been delivered on the case, Virginia’s newly elected Attorney General Justin Miyares says that his office intends to investigate the district after the school board allegedly sought to cover up incidents of sexual abuse at schools to push its transgender bathroom policy.

Setting aside for the moment the whole "non binary" part of the story what we have is a 15 year old sex offender who has been convicted of rape, sodomy, and anal sodomy. Even though he is now in custody, he will be released at some point and will be running around the community. He should be in the sex registry until it is proven that he is no longer a danger to society. In fact, he should be held in custody until he is no longer a threat to society.

Or, we could just let him lose and let some parents know where and when he was released.

Congresswoman’s Bribery Scandal Takes Shocking New Turn (yahoo.com)

The scandal enveloping congresswoman Marie Newman—who is accused of signing and then reneging on a contract to pay a political rival not to run against her—has taken a shocking new turn. Federal campaign records show that after striking a secret settlement with the rival, the Illinois Democrat did, in fact, put the man on her campaign payroll.

In October 2018, Newman allegedly signed a contract with Iymen Chehade promising him a cozy six-figure salary on her congressional staff in exchange for his political support, according to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE). When Newman ultimately didn’t hire Chehade after she won her 2020 election, he sued.

The two reached an undisclosed settlement over the summer. But, it turns out, that’s not the end of the story.

Newman’s latest FEC filings show she did hire Chehade as a foreign policy adviser—only instead of being paid through her congressional office, Chehade was hired through Newman’s campaign.

Dem Rep. Signed Contract Promising Job to Rival, Watchdog Says

Chehade has received a total of $54,000 since the second half of 2021, mostly in salary installments of $7,500 a month, but sometimes with additional $2,000 payments. According to the FEC filings, the disbursements to Chehade began on July 1, 2021, just two days after both sides reached a deal to resolve the lawsuit.

That salary appears to make Chehade far and away the highest-paid employee on the congresswoman’s team during the filing period, though Newman’s team now claims campaign manager Ben Hardin has since surpassed Chehade’s salary.

Either way, Newman’s campaign told The Daily Beast that Chehade, as their foreign policy adviser, was an “important member of our team.”

“As sometimes happens, Mr. Chehade and Marie had a disagreement that led to a lawsuit in 2021. The two settled the lawsuit amicably last year and agreed to move forward together in a productive manner,” Hardin said in a statement.

“Democrats should view this as exactly what it is—a tactic out of the right wing playbook to manufacture a scandal,” Hardin added.

Virginia Democrats Block Black Republican From Joining Black Caucus

.C. Cordoza: 'My black voice came to the table, and it was rejected'

A black member of Virginia's House of Delegates was blocked from joining the Legislative Black Caucus because he is a Republican.

Delegate A.C. Cordoza, the first black person to represent the city of Poquoson, said Thursday on the House floor that the black caucus stopped him from joining, which the caucus's chairman later confirmed.

To be considered for membership, Cordoza had to take a questionnaire for entry, which "had little to do with being black and had more to do with being leftist," he said. Included on the form were questions about "environmental justice" and abortion.

"Yesterday one of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle said that we want black voices at the table," Cordoza said. "Well, my black voice came to the table, and it was rejected."

"I don't know what I should do," he concluded. "I'm a legislator, I'm black, and I want to help the black community. Maybe I need to start my own caucus, the Virginia Non-Leftist Black Caucus."

Democrats fumed at Cordoza's speech. Delegate Lamont Bagby, the caucus's chairman, questioned whether Cordoza "really wanted to be a black caucus member" or whether Republican leadership wanted him to join as a spy.

Illinois Dem Appears To Use Donor Funds To Pay Settlement to Political Rival She Bribed

Democratic congresswoman Marie Newman (Ill.) appears to be using donor funds to pay out tens of thousands of dollars in settlement money to a political rival she bribed to keep out of her primary race.

In late June, Newman settled a breach of contract lawsuit with local activist Iymen Chehade, which stemmed from an employment agreement she signed that promised Chehade a six-figure job in her official office in exchange for his commitment not to run against her. Just two days after the settlement, Newman's campaign began paying Chehade a "salary" of roughly $10,000 a month, financial disclosures show. Those payments continued through late December, allowing Chehade to rake in more than $50,000 from the campaign.

Newman's settlement with Chehade came as the Democrat faced a congressional ethics investigation into her employment agreement with the activist. Under federal law, a candidate cannot promise a job "for the purpose of procuring political support." But Chehade signed a nondisclosure agreement as part of the settlement, making him unable to participate in the investigation. During the probe, Newman campaign manager Ben Hardin seemingly confirmed that Newman's settlement prompted the payments to Chehade, telling the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) that the activist "has a few deliverables as part of the settlement" but otherwise has "very minimal interaction" with the campaign.

I've put this here because I can't figure out where else to put it. The "woke" company Penzey's Spices has stepped in it with their "Republicans Are Racists Weekend!" as they lost more than 40,000 subscribers from their email list. They've told remaining subscribers that there is a nice littel boycott going against them. "It certainly wasn't unexpected, but if it's within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help."

Republicans Are Racists Weekend!' Sale Leads to Thousands of Unsubscribers
    Zoe Strozewski - Thursday

A Wisconsin-based spice company's "Republicans Are Racists Weekend!" held on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day has mired the company in controversy leading to a boycott of thousands of customers, but the company is not apologizing.

On January 14, Penzey's Spices sent an advertisement to its email list signed by company CEO Bill Penzey announcing the sale where customers would get a half-cup jar of spice for free with a $10 purchase. The promotion, which included the subhead "Cheese Off Racists For Free!," also offered a free set of 10 heart-shaped stickers with the Black Lives Matter acronym with any purchase.

The company almost immediately felt the backlash as many customers unsubscribed from its email list in response. However, Penzey's Spices did not back down from its stance.

On January 28, Penzey said in a signed post on the company's Facebook page that Penzey's Spices had lost more than 40,000 subscribers from its email list as a result. "We've set a nice little Boycott Penzeys! surge in motion," the company wrote. "It certainly wasn't unexpected, but if it's within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help."

Penzy's also announced a new gift card sale to help them "possibly get a few good new customers to replace the ones we've lost." It included a picture of the gift cards, embossed with the words "Choose Love," and a message underneath that read "Calling out Republican racism has its costs. Please help us afford them."

The move reflects a wider trend where companies that have opted to chime in on political issues have consequently seen pushback from some customers. Ice cream company Ben & Jerry's, for example, received backlash after announcing this past summer that it was halting sales in West Bank and East Jerusalem because it was "inconsistent with our values."

Though headquartered in Wisconsin, Penzey's has stores throughout the U.S. In the January 28 Facebook post, the company said that it lost about 3 percent of its total subscribers.

"So far your word-of-mouth has already brought us 30,000 fresh faces, but we are still down about 10,000. Please help," the post read.

The original promotional email included a long message that explored the BLM movement, both in the context of King's work and the mass protests that broke out across the U.S. after the death of George Floyd in 2020. It also accused Republicans of trying to "derail" the BLM movement.

Tough-on-China Dem Senate Candidate Invested in Chinese Companies Linked to State Surveillance

A Democratic Senate candidate quietly unloaded at least $100,000 in stocks in two controversial Chinese tech giants around the same time he pivoted to a tough-on-Beijing stance on the campaign trail—but is declining to say whether he sold his stakes in other companies linked to Chinese forced labor.

Wisconsin Senate candidate Alex Lasry held between $100,000 and $200,000 in corporate securities stock in tech companies Tencent and Alibaba, according to his most recent financial disclosure report in August. The U.S. government has accused both companies of aiding the Chinese military. Lasry also disclosed investments in Inditex and Seagate Technology, which have been accused of profiting off forced labor in Xinjiang, and Chindata, a company that has been active in China’s Belt and Road Initiative—a global infrastructure program that U.S. officials have decried as a national security risk.

Lasry has struggled against perceptions that he is soft on China since launching his campaign last year. His father, billionaire hedge-funder Marc Lasry, has been an advocate for investment opportunities in China, telling a business forum in May that "now is a great time to be investing in China" and praising the country’s economic growth as "through the roof."

Lasry’s critics have highlighted his position as a senior vice president at the Milwaukee Bucks—the basketball team owned by his father—noting that the NBA has extensive financial interests in China.

During a lengthy interview with Jewish Insider, Lasry "was somewhat reticent while discussing the NBA’s highly profitable business relationship with China" and "seemed eager to sidestep the matter," the outlet reported.

The Wisconsin Senate race is expected to be one of the most competitive of the 2022 cycle, with Democrats hoping to unseat GOP incumbent Ron Johnson.

Lasry, who has already pumped $2.3 million into his own campaign, is seen as one of several frontrunners for the Democratic nomination. The crowded primary field also includes sitting Wisconsin lieutenant governor Mandela Barnes and state treasurer Sarah Godlewski.

This is how George Soros continues to do so much damage to our country without ever running out of money. Much of the Soros' Foundations are just given "seed" money by him, but then are later supported by public monies, your tax dollars, coming from the Progressive Democrats within the administration.

Feds steer $200M in COVID-19 relief to left-wing nonprofit to aid illegal entrants
The Vera Institute of Justice reportedly received more than $10 million in funding from progressive megadonor George Soros' Open Society Foundation from 2016 to 2019.

This week's Golden Horseshoe is awarded to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for $200.5 million in contracts awarded to a George Soros-funded, progressive nonprofit in the past year for legal services for illegal immigrants.

Last year, according to watchdog group Open the Books, HHS awarded a $158 million contract for legal services for unaccompanied, undocumented minors to the Vera Institute of Justice, a left-wing advocacy organization that backs defunding the police, criminal justice and bail reform, and releasing illegal aliens from ICE detention.

The contract is now at $164 million, as an additional $6 million was obligated by HHS in just the last week, according to the federal government's USASPENDING.gov website. The contract amount could potentially reach $198 million.

Of the $164 million, HHS obligated $64 million in COVID-19 relief funds for the legal representation of undocumented unaccompanied minors, according to the contract summary posted on USASPENDING.gov.

HHS did not respond to a request for comment.

"The Vera Institute of Justice is a behemoth progressive nonprofit based out of New York City with well over a $140 million budget, which they use to fund a slate of progressive causes and initiatives across the country," Jason Hopkins, an investigative associate with the Immigration Reform Law Institute, told Fox News. "Whether that be criminal justice reform, bail reform and also immigration."

The Vera Institute of Justice is tied to left-wing megadonor George Soros and received more than $10 million in funding from his Open Society Foundation from 2016 to 2019, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

In addition to the HHS contract award, the DOJ also awarded contracts to the Vera Institute to fund legal services for illegal immigrants in 2021, Just The News has learned.

The DOJ awarded five additional contracts totaling $36.8 million to the group for legal services for family groups, unaccompanied children's custodians, and "immigration court help desk."

    Those DOJ contracts include:

    • $9.4 million for EOIR, which refers to the Executive Office for Immigration Review
    • $12.7 million for legal orientation program
    • $4.7 million for family group legal orientation program
    • $4.6 million for "immigration court help desk"
    • $5.3 million for legal orientation for unaccompanied alien children custodians
The five contracts were all funded by the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which received $284 million in new appropriations in fiscal year 2022, carried over a balance of $48 million from FY2021 and also has "the authority to use $24 million of other budgetary resources," according to its fiscal year summary.

The "agency will not have statistics showing how many noncitizens were served on these current contracts until the end of their periods of performance, which will be later this year," said a department official..

A review of contracts shows the ballooning legal costs for illegal immigrants amid the southern border crisis exploding under the Biden Administration. U.S. taxpayers now have footed $200.5 million in legal bills in 2021, compared to $25.3 million in 2020.

Every year, "thousands of immigrant children are placed into court proceedings in which government prosecutors seek to deport them unless those children can prove they have a right to stay in the United States," a Vera Institute spokesperson told Fox News.

Many children face the proceedings alone and have "legal options that establish their ability to remain in the United States, (such as refugees, trafficking victims, and survivors of crime and abuse), but these options are nearly impossible to access without the assistance of trained attorneys," she told the news outlet. "Other children require legal assistance to seek to voluntarily repatriate to their countries of origin."

The "vast majority" of the federal funding the organization receives, she said, is used to subcontract legal services providers throughout the country.

"The Vera Institute seeks to set up a parallel public defender system that they run with your tax dollars," Adam Andrzejewski, CEO and founder of Open the Books, told Just the News. "With hundreds of millions in taxpayer funding, they are seeking a legal subsidy for illegal entrants. This has troubling public policy implications. For example, Vera is a non-profit entity and is not government. Therefore, they are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act, so citizens don't have a right to know and can't follow the money."

Oh boy, I can hardly wait for Uncle Andrew (is he Guido to his less bright brother Fredo??) to make this run, just to rehabilitate his image. Some people are so addicted to power that they will do anything to climb back up even after (probably) being indirectly responsible for thousands of unnecessary COVID deaths in New York nursing homes.

Cuomo’s revenge! Disgraced Governor wants to challenge Letitia James for AG, according to buzz
    February 7, 2022 | Kevin Haggerty

Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo may reportedly be seeking elected office once more in retaliation to investigations. Cuomo, 64, abruptly resigned from office last August after Attorney General Letitia James (D-NY) had opened an investigation into numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault against the Democrat.

Now rumors are circulating that the disgraced governor branded a “serial groper” may look to reclaim the attorney general’s office that he held from 2007 to 2010, according to a report on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal.

    0:11 / 49:22
The outlet reported that the former lawmaker and his aides “are intensifying an effort to revive his public standing, including discussing how to make his first public appearance since resigning in August, according to people close to him.”

“Political operatives” who’ve communicated with the Cuomo camp have indicated that a run for attorney general against James may be in play, though Cuomo himself has not said anything to confirm. “The people said Mr. Cuomo, who was attorney general from 2007 to 2010, never explicitly mentioned a campaign, but they inferred his interest based on the points he made about Ms. James and questions he asked about the state’s political climate. It is the former governor’s style to ask questions about his options as part of his decision making, the people said,” the outlet reported.

“He’s most interested in clearing his name,” NY state Democratic chairman Jay Jacobs told the Wall Street Journal when asked to comment on Cuomo’s future after reportedly sexually harassing 11 women.

“My advice would be, he needs time to pass before any moves to re-enter public life. But is that possible in the future?” Jacobs went on. “In America, anything’s possible.”

The harassment scandal that led to Cuomo’s resignation became known to the public when former aide Lindsey Bolan stated her claims against the governor in December 2020. Cuomo denied all claims until James’ report was released wherein details like the alleged sexual assault of former aide Brittany Commisso were laid out.

Commisso had brought accusations to the police of Cuomo groping her breast in the executive mansion in November 2020. The district attorney of Albany County has since dropped the case citing lack of evidence.

Charges have also been dropped in two other New York districts after allegations of unwanted kisses on the cheeks of two women, one a state trooper.

Following James’ brief run for governor against incumbent Kathy Hochul (D-NY) that she had suspended after failing to raise enough money, Cuomo has quipped that for James, the title of AG actually stands for “aspiring governor.”

Cuomo recently shared a tweet from his former advisor Rich Azzopardi calling James, “a serial liar whose touted 11 cases have now been reviewed by Democratic & Republican DAs across the state & have resulted in 0 cases being brought.”

This sexual harassment case is only one of the scandals to have come up during the waning days of Cuomo’s administration.

Cuomo’s reputation has again been called into question amid the recent resignation of Jeff Zucker as CEO of CNN.

After disclosing a previously secret relationship with coworker Allison Gollust, many have called into question the frequent guest appearances that Zucker encouraged Cuomo to make on the network. Gollust was Cuomo’s communications chief in 2012 and 2013 and, according to the New York Post, Gollust and Cuomo “stayed friendly” after her departure.

CNN denies any conflict of interest while they are facing a lawsuit from the former governor’s brother and since-fired host on the network, Chris Cuomo.

An investigation has also closed into Cuomo’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fox News Digital reports.

Cuomo’s representative said, “after a thorough investigation – as we have said all along – there was no evidence to suggest that any laws were broken.”

This investigation was also opened by James after it was revealed that the NY Department of Health had underreported nursing home deaths by as much as 50%. The nursing homes had been directed to accept COVID-19 positive patients under the direction of Cuomo’s administration.
